Still too lax
I understand there is a need for firearms for farmers and commercial hunters. There is no need for firearms for fun or pleasure. Those that want a firearm for no other purpose than to play at a gun club really do not need this and it should be stopped. Gun control laws are still too lax. There needs to be regular / annual psycological evaluation for every firearm licence holder to determine their mental fitness to continue to hold a firearm licence. Firearms need to be forfeit when an individual fails a psycological fitness test!!
I have seen gun advocates argue against psycological fitness tests with the arguement that drunk drivers kill more people than are killed with firearms. To this I respond that we have random breath testing to determine alcohol content of drivers to get those that drive inebreated off the roads, having a psycological fitness test for a firearm licence holder would be equivelent to random breath tests in this case!!
